Homeopathy appt

I had my homeopathy appointment today. I think it went really well. I felt really comfortable with this lady and it turns out she is from our home town and knows a lot of the people we do. The first remedy she gave me was Carcinosin, which I am only to take once tonight before bed. Then tomorrow I am to start the Staphysagria and take it once a day until I feel the effects (a calmer state of mind) and then stop. I have a follow up phone appt in 2 weeks. Let's hope this works! I think my supply is already starting to increase some because I didn't have to give Mia a bottle until 1130 this morning! Yeah! After my appt, we went to Foods for Life and I got a couple herbs to try that I read about on this online forum: http://www.bfar.org/ I started those and the Domperidone with lunch today. So here is my daily regimen: Domperidone 40mg TID, Staphysagria daily, Shatavari 1000mg TID, Barley Grass 2000mg QID, Prenatal vitamin daily.

Gotta love help from a friend!

One of the moms from a breastfeeding meet-up group contacted me, and she told me about some different things that have really helped her supply. She has had breast surgery and that is the reason for her short supply. I on the other hand, don't have a reason or a diagnosis, which is really frustrating. I am going to her house tomorrow, and she is going to give me some different meds/herbs to try, and a lactaid system so that Mia can get her supplement while she is nursing, which will give me more stimulation. It's so nice to know that others are out there that have some of the same issues, and can still breastfeed even though they don't have a full supply. As I tell my patients...any amount of breastmilk is awesome! As is any amount of nursing for moms who desire that nursing relationship with their child. I am so happy to say I am still nursing at 5 months. Me and my sweet baby are all the better because of it!

Supply has doubled!

When I pumped for this 1st time tonight at work I got out 55ml! I had been getting out only 30ml, so that is almost 2x as much! This diet is working!

Breastfeeding meal plan

Today was my 1st day on this breastfeeding meal plan, which includes foods that will support Mia's health, help maintain my milk supply, and help me regain a healthy weight. We had lunch at Jason's Deli, and I had to nurse Mia while we were there. I am always nervous breastfeeding in public and feel like I don't have a good let down when I do. I used my nursing cover and I felt like I had a good let down and Mia was happy and nursed for awhile. Thankfully I didn't get any awkward glances, although I really wouldn't care if I did! :) I found some of my items at publix, but we went to Fresh Market and they had more organic items at better prices, so I will be shopping there for my specialty and organic items! I found powdered fenugreek there in the spice section, and I am looking forward to finding some recipes to make with it.
